Today I ventured into a long lost place I haven’t been to in months! THAT’S RIGHT, I’m talking about H E A V E N aka a library filled to the brim of gorgeous books (and outstanding NBN wifi)
And while I was there I picked up a few books that have been on my list for quite awhile. Books that I have forced myself not to buy in an attempt at saving the dollaroos.
The Intern by Gabrielle Tozer
The Intern is the first in a duo logy and follows Josie Browning, who I’m assuming is . . . well, an intern. I’ve been looking forward to reading more of Tozer’s work and the minute I saw it on the shelves, calling to me, I had to take it home. This little novel and it’s romance-y vibe seems perfect for this crazy MELBOURNE weather, and after reading Remind Me How This Ends and loving it, I can’t wait to read this very soon.
Cooper Bartholomew Is Dead – Rebecca James
I LOVED Beautiful Malice when I was in high school. I had to sneakily borrow it behind my usual librarians back because she thought I wasn’t “mature enough” for such a book. I’ve been meaning to pick this bad boy up since it came out a few years ago. Cooper Bartholomew Is Dead follows Libby and her search for answers to what really happened to Cooper, who was found at the bottom of a cliff. Dead. She refuses to believe he decided to take the plunge, no pun intended.
Splintered – A. G. Howard
Splintered is a twisted tale featuring rabbit holes and strange ‘delusions’, set some generations after Lewis Carroll – who is also a character in the story – meets and publishes the crazy tales the famous Alice has to tell about wonderland, our main character starts having visions of Wonderland. What if the tales of Wonderland weren’t just tales after all?
I’ve been eyeing this series for so long! I absolutely love Alice In Wonderland and retellings of all kinds.
Assassination Classroom #1 – Yusei Matusi
I’m going to be honest when I say that I have no
idea what this book is about. Apparently it’s super bizarre and just downright strange. It’s really popular at my work right now, so I decided I should read what the kool kids are reading.
UNTIL NEXT HAUL, MY LOVES
